Coach Phil, a true pioneer of Canadian cricket, laid the foundation in 1999 by establishing the original Ajax Cricket Club. In 2006, the club evolved into what is now proudly known as Durham Cricket Academy (DCA) with a bold promise, “Your child’s cricket journey begins today building confidence, skills, and team spirit.”

From humble beginnings, DCA has grown into a cricketing cornerstone for young athletes across the Durham region. Our first junior teams competed in the TDCA tournament back in 2006, setting the stage for the generations of talent that followed.

DCA offers year round programs in our dedicated indoor facility a groundbreaking step that has enabled countless aspiring players to train and grow, rain or shine. With access to top tier coaching, a structured development pathway, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, DCA provides a nurturing environment where young cricketers flourish, from grassroots to elite levels.

Operating from the beautiful Ajax Cricket Ground, our teams compete with pride and passion. Many of our talented players represent the Ajax Club, a testament to the high standards of training and sportsmanship instilled at the Academy.

More than just training, we believe match experience is key. That’s why we organize regular practice games and competitive tournaments, ensuring our players gain invaluable real game exposure a vital pillar of true cricket development.

Under the visionary guidance of Coach Phil and our experienced coaching team, DCA has produced generations of skilled cricketers. We have proudly clinched numerous division titles, from Under-9 to Senior levels, and many of our alumni have worn Canadian national colours at prestigious international youth tournaments.
